Is it time to revive your deck? Give your outdoor living space a new look with protection.
Each project is different and can vary widely in the woods condition on each deck. Some may need full deck board replacement or just rioting pieces addressed. We will inspect and evaluate the condition of the wood and what works best with you and your project.
We clean the surface of the deck with a mild detergent and rinse with moderate pressure. This will remove any grime, dirt, mold or algae stuck in the pores or surface of the wood. Depending on the situation of the project after the deck has been washed, we may also give the deck an Acid Wash.
In some cases, we will treat the wood with an acid base solution to revive and brighten the wood to its natural color. We do this on decks when applying a semi-transparent stain to help bring out the natural look of the wood after the stain cures. Not all decks will be required to have this method done, this will depend on the wood and desired outcome of the project.
We believe sanding can be a crucial and overlooked step when it comes to re-staining your deck. If your deck is older, has weather damage or an uneven stain it most likely needs some sanding. The fibers of the wood can break over time due to age, UV damage and even from the wash process. In order to remove the bad layers from the wood we pressure treat the wood, then follow it up with sanding to smooth the surface and remove the bad fibers. This will make a smooth and solid surface for the stain to adhere to.
Now for the final touches.. the "Oohs and Ahhs"! Revive your outdoor living space when you stain or re-stain your deck. With a wide range of colors to choose from there is something fitting for everyone. The stain and sealer will also provide protection to your deck surface preventing damage from UV rays and weather for many years.
Most stains today come with a sealer in it. This will help protect the wood and give you many color options to choose from.
A semi-transparent stain will give the wood a more natural look with a pronounced color appearance.
Solid stains hide the grain of the wood and typically hold up the longest.
